Trio Restaurant Reviews December, 2017 - January, 2018

Sunday Brunch on Christmas Eve

Reviewed by Bill from Charlotte who dined on January 26, 2018

We had not been to Trio's in several years. Why I don't know, but I am really glad we decided to go. The food and the service was outstanding and unlike many locations it did not break the bank. We generally do not go out during restaurant week however my good friend was celebrating his 75th birthday and so I took a chance to see where we could get a reservation and Trio's had an opening @ 7:30. While it was busy, as expected, the service and quality of food was outstanding. We were able to get one seat at the bar and the bartenders could not be more friendly and accommodating. We will be back very soon and will definitely recommend Trio to all of my friends. Thanks to the entire staff for a great evening.

Best of Restaurant Week

Reviewed by an Open Table Diner from Charlotte who dined on January 26, 2018

We have been to Trio Restaurant 15 to 20 times in the past. The service is always great. The food is always great. The last time we went was for Restaurant Week in Charlotte, NC. We also went to 2 other Restaurants during the week, but of the three Trio's stood out. If you want to have a good time, good food, and good service, this is the place.

Great Deal for Restaurant Week

Great deal for restaurant week. Wife had seafood, I had steak. Both were great. Will definitely go back for regular menu.

Trio has been our favorite, south Charlotte restaurant for over 25 years. It is our kitchen's annex ...

Had a great time. Enjoyed everything. Each course was fantastic, even the soup and I don't like soup! I really enjoyed myself.

Great Neighborhood Restaurant with Affordable Prices

Reviewed by FoodiesMom1 from Charlotte who dined on January 16, 2018

I ordered the Farro risotto this time and it was delicious. I will order that again. Trio's is a great neighborhood restaurant. You always know that you will find something that you will like. It is moderately priced, but it is not fast food. Everything is cooked to order, plated and well presented. Fine dining at an affordable price.

Fantastic Food, Servers, Monthly Specials

Reviewed by an lovemypens from Charlotte who dined on December 24, 2017

We have been going to Trio for about 15 years. The staff is largely the same. What does that say? This locally owned gem beats those chains by miles and miles. Their specials change monthly, so check the site under "menus" to see the specials each month. Always something fantastic on there for most tastes. The bar is usually busy with locals; a lot of times the same locals! But they are happy to include newbies into the group and are friendly and welcoming.

We like to sit "in the pit", where there are just 3 booths across from the brick pizza oven.

Brunch always offers faves like pancakes (only on Sunday and different each week) and benedicts, but I love the breakfast pizza with spinach, fontina, scrambled eggs...yum! Michelle makes the best mimosas and poinsettias (champagne and cranberry); it's like she just whispers "juice" over the champagne. If you like curry, you've got to try the Mulligatawny soup. WOW. And the quiches are succulent no matter the fillings. Lemon salmon with creamed cauliflower and grilled asparagus is my go to for lunch or dinner; you'll never miss the carbs, promise!! My husband loves the Trio meatloaf and it looks delicious, but so much food! 2 full meals' worth at least. If you're a salad person, the Killer dressing lives up to its name!

Service is friendly and never rushed. Servers are knowledgable and can answer any question on the spot. Just after church lets out there's a wait. Always. So go early or after 1 unless you don't mind waiting. Or just go on Saturday!
