Ciro’s Italian Restaurant in Charlotte, not only a family name, but a tradition. Established in 1995, owners Art and Lucia Cornielle moved to Charlotte from Brooklyn with a passion to create a restaurant which would become recognized as one of the University area’s most prized possessions. We can remember customers passing by the restaurant throughout the up-fitting stages, patiently waiting but very eager to try the new place in town!! We opened the doors without a big announcement and were a monumental success.

As you approach the Italian restaurant in Charlotte, you are immediately welcomed by the warming aroma of fresh baked bread and pop’s homemade marinara sauce. Paolo Caruso, better know as Mr. Paul, is Lucia’s father and the “rock” that holds us all together. He is there every morning baking that delicious bread and every evening serenading our guests with his music. Paolo has made a lasting impression and valued friendship with our patrons, he makes everyone feel like part of our family.

The menu, a wide variety of homemade Italian Traditional dishes, fresh seafood, delicious desserts, hand-tossed New York Style pizza, a nice range of wine choices, full bar, and the best calamari around!!
